Chanura Microfin Manipur (CMM) organize Financial Literacy Mass Awareness campaign. The Campaign was launched by Mr. S.V. Nemlekar, General Manager, NABARD, Imphal Regional Office at Wangkhei Durga Puja Lampak on 19th Nov 2011.

In the First phase, Chanura tied up with the Friends of Women’s World Banking (FWWB), India and the Indian School of Microfinance for Women (ISMW) Ahmadabad Chanura organized 10 Financial Literacy Mass Awareness Campaigns in different villages of 4 valley districts of the State, covering about 3000 families. It also conducted household training in 83 different villages, benefiting more than 2500 households.

 

In the Second phase, Chanura organized 5 Financial Literacy Mass Awareness Campaigns under the sponsorship of the Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI) in 5 different villages and about 1000 families were covered.

 

In the third phase, Chanura also organized 15 Financial Literacy Mass Awareness Campaigns under the sponsorship of the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD) in 15 different villages and about 1700 families were covered.

 

In the fourth phase, Chanura organized another 15 Mass Awareness Campaigns under the Sponsorship of the Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI) and it covered different 15 areas of 6 blocks and around 2,000 families benefitted.

So far, Chanura Microfin Manipur Organized 45 Financial Literacy Mass Awareness Campaigns and 83 household training. It covered 128 villages in 5 districts of Manipur.

As an outcome of the programme, many families have controlled their expenditures, started savings, set plans for the future, and linked with insurance companies
